I Remember
By Kori Rolon

I lie in the darkness, just thinking of you.
I'm sure you're saying I miss you, too.
Everyone is proud to say that you were mine.
No one is as lucky as us to claim you all the time.
You were as tall as a giant tree
Especially if you were standing next to me.
Your smell is heaven when you walked into the room.
No one I smell has the same perfume.
When you had to say goodbye
You told us not to cry.
The branches on the tree wave as we had to see you go.
So I am looking out the window to see if they say hello.
