Mud Puddles
By Eleanor Keiper

A mud puddle is a wonderful thing
It positively makes my heart sing.

Cause when you stamp your feet
It goes splittery splat!
After an early Spring rain,
There’s nothing funnier than that.

But I don’t understand it,
When my Mom gets so mad.
I just run into the house to tell her
About all the fun that I had.

I suppose I could have taken off my shoes
But, “Glory to Dickens!”
It was “Hurry –up” news.

Cause a mud puddle is a wonderful thing
It positively makes my heart sing.
