Cooper Memorial Library will host the second annual Fiction Writing Seminar at the Clermont Woman’s Club on Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.. To improve your writing, you need to understand the various tools and techniques writers can use to create a strong story. To present your work professionally, bring your manuscripts into print, and know where you fit in the market you need advice from a professional. The large and well-known publishing houses deal almost exclusively with agents, and many simply will not look at a proposal that is not submitted by an agent. These sessions will cover the elements of fiction writing, finding the right agent and getting published.
Author Cynthia Thomason enjoys writing love stories and books for and about women. She has been doing just that for about fourteen years. Her first book, River Song, was published in 1998, and since then she has published five historical romances, one time travel anthology, ten contemporary romances and two historical mysteries. Her Sister’s Child, a Harlequin Super Romance won first place in the 2008 Desert Rose Golden Quill contest for Long Contemporary and is a finalist for the Maggie Award.
