It's Tax Time at Leesburg Public Library

AARP is looking for vounteers and helping citizens.
Barbara J. Morse

In January, Leesburg Public Library will have tax forms and booklets available to citizens at the Main Street entrance near the bookstore.  Although library staff cannot give tax advice, we do have distribution of forms and booklets provided by the IRS.  We also have books available for loan and computers and printers to assist you in finding and printing the more obscure forms.  There are also copiers on the first and second floor.  Copies are 10 cents each.

During January, AARP will be signing up volunteers and training them on how to assist citizens in the preparation of their taxes.  If you would like to be an AARP volunteer, this is the place for you. Volunteers must be computer literate and able to work at least one day a week during the tax season.  There will be 3 separate sessions limited to 25 in each class.  The first and third sessions are for returning volunteers; Jan 5, 6 & 12th or Jan 26 - 29.  New recruits will attend the second session (Jan 13, 14, 15, and 19-22).

Beginning February 2nd, the Library will be working with AARP to help citizens with their tax preparation. Volunteers will be here most weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Call the library at 728-9790 or come in to make an appointment.
