Gary Earl, New Support Services Manager

The Lake County Library System welcomes the new Support Services Manager, Gary Earl. Previously,  Gary was the Branch Supervisor at the Cagan Crossings Community Library in Clermont. He has been with the Library System for over 5 years, at the Cooper Memorial Library as well as the Leesburg Public Library in various capacities. Gary states, "I know that I have very large shoes to fill replacing Charlene Smith, but I look forward to the many challenges facing the library system. There are a lot of new, technological initiatives ahead, and I am excited about moving us forward. Some such initiatives include the evaluation of new Integrated Library Systems, Thin Client Computer Terminals for the public, as well as the possibility of streaming video and music available for checkout. As technology advances, we must be able to provide our staff with continuous training and our public with the service they have come to expect from our wonderful library system."

Before arriving in Lake County, Gary spent several years as an Elementary School Media Specialist in Boston and Los Angeles and a Young Adult Librarian in Winter Park. Gary looks forward to the many challenges and opportunities that the new position brings.
