George and Martha Washington

Presidents and Their First Ladies Dramatically Speaking
Carol Anderson

Dramatically Speaking performers William and Sue Wills appear in costume as President George Washington and Martha Washington at the Leesburg Public Library on Saturday, February 22nd at 10:30 am.  Did a marriage of convenience lead to our "First" First Couple?  If true love wasn't the spark of the marriage, it certainly grew as the years passed and Martha shared George's struggles first during the Revolution, then the Presidency.  Meet George and Martha Washingon as portrayed by William and Sue Wills at the Leesburg Public Library, 100 East Main Street, Leesburg.

Starting in 1991, William and Sue Wills began researching, writing, and performing a series of presentations called "Presidents and Their First Ladies, Dramatically Speaking."  They have since toured nationwide and given over 300 performances each year.  Many of those have been at the nation's Presidential Museums.  Don't miss this unique historical portrayal, sponsored by the Friends of the Leesburg Library.  For more information, visit the website or contact the Leesburg Public Library at (352) 728-9790 or e-mail
