East Lake Happenings!

The Holiday Edition

Library staff will start things off with a series of financial workshops sponsored by Insight Credit Union.  These informative programs will begin Monday October 7, and run through Thursday October 10. Each seminar will be held from 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.

The annual Fall Festival will be held on October 19, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. The Friends will be having their book sale/bake sale, raffle and community yard sale. There will also be food and drinks for sale. On that same day the library will be having its pumpkin decorating event. It is from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. and is open to kids of all ages.  Come by or call the library to get your name on the list. Space is limited to 25 kids.  All craft supplies will be provided. No cutting/carving will take place. There will be Halloween mood music, treats and a witches brew.

There will be a teen Halloween party on Wednesday October 30, from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. There will be music, games food and fun. Make Hallowteen a part of your holiday fun.

In December library staff will be holding 3 events geared for the youth. On December 7, from 11 a.m. -12 p.m. staff will conduct the first Christmas cracker making craft. The sign up will begin in November and space is limited to 25 kids. Each kid will be able to make 2 crackers. All craft supplies will be available along with instructions and staff to assist. We will have holiday music, treats and a holiday punch.

The second event will be a teen cookie decorating program. The library will provide the cookies and frosting you just bring your imagination. It will be on Saturday December 14, from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

The third event will be our annual faux gingerbread decorating program. It will be on Saturday December 21 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Sign up will begin in November and space is limited to 25 kids.  Each participant is required to bring a bag of candy or other treat to share with everyone for decorating the houses. The library will provide candy and treats and there be will holiday music and hot chocolate.
