Welcome the New Astor Children's Librarian

Margee Unger Joins the Team
Katherine Spurgeon

Margee Unger, who was a library page at the Astor County library for five years, has now assumed the position of children's librarian.   She began her new duties in early August and has been busy developing a new youth services program for the library.  Preschool storytimes are again being offered every week, and Margee has been enticing school age children to come to the library and participate in fun trivia games.  In October, she is planning special craft programs every Thursday from 5:30-7:00 pm.  She is having

a Halloween party on October 24th, co-sponsored by the Astor Moose.  Children who come to the library in costume on Halloween will receive a bag of treats.

Margee has been working with the Friends of the Library to collect recyclable materials to be used for craft projects throughout the year.  In addition, she is working on plans for a Christmas dance in early December.

The library is proud to welcome Margee to her new position, and we look forward to some exciting children's programs in the coming years.
