East Lake Happenings!

Holiday Edition!

It is that time again and the east Lake staff proudly present our Holiday programs.

We kick off the holiday spirit with the Friends of the East Lake County Library's Fall book/bake sale on October 13. It will be from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.  Come out and support the Friends by buying some books, baked goods and raffle tickets. You never know what you might find at the Community Yard sale. The East Lake Historical Society will be selling hot dogs, chips and drinks. Proceeds from the Friends sale go to benefit the East Lake County Library. Also on site will be the East Lake Chamber of Commerce's Pumpkin Patch. So come on out and support these worthy causes and have some fun.

The East Lake Library's first holiday event will be its Annual Pumpkin Decorating program. It will be on October 27 from 11 a.m. -12 p.m. Just in time for Halloween. There is a limit of 25 kids, so please call or visit the circulation desk to sign-up. The pumpkins will be provided as well as all of the decorating supplies needed to decorate your pumpkin. All you have to do is bring your imagination. There is no carving of the pumpkins. The community room will be festively decorated along with spooky sounds. There will be Witch's brew, for those brave enough, and treats.

December 1 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.  will be our Ornament Decorating program. There is a limit of 25 kids, so please call or visit the circulation desk to sign-up. Each participant will be provided 2 ornaments to decorate. The library will provide all the craft materials. The community room will be decorated for the winter holiday along with songs of the season. There will be holiday punch and a treat.

December 22 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. will be the Faux Gingerbread Decorating program. There is a limit of 25 kids, so please call or visit the circulation desk to sign-up. The houses will be pre-made and provided by the library. Each participant will be required to bring a bag of candy or other edible item to be used by all to decorate their houses. The community room will be decorated for the winter holiday along with songs of the season. There will be a hot chocolate and a holiday cookie for each child.

Have a happy and safe holiday! We hope to see you at the library. Please enjoy the programs.
