East Lake County Library's 10th Annual Poetry Contest

East Lake County Library is holding its 10th Annual Poetry Contest in honor of April as National Poetry Month.  Entries will be accepted April 1st until April 30th.  The Poetry Contest is for all ages broken down in 3 age groups including: Childrens 0-12 years; Teens 13-18 years; Adults 19 and up.

There is no limit to how many entries that can be submitted by one person.  Qualifying entries may be on any topic and any style of writing. Typed is preferred and the poem should fit on one 8 1/2' X 11' piece of paper.

The deadline is April 30th, 2011 and the entry form must be filled out to accepted. Poems will be judged by members of the Palm Writer's Group.  Entries will be accepted at any local Lake County Library System library; submitted online at www.mylakelibrary.org or faxed to 352-383-9982.

Prizes will be sponsored by the Friends of East Lake County Library and will include for 1st place - $50 Gift Certificate to Books-A-Million;  2nd Place - $25 Gift Certificate to Books-A-Million;  3rd Place - $15 Gift Certificate to Books-A-Million.  Winners will be notified and all poets are welcome to the Poetry Awards Night on May 24th, 2011 at the East Lake County Library in Sorrento at 6 p.m.
