The Lake County Library System will host the Trash to Fashion Contest, teen fashion extravaganza at Rock the Runway, on Saturday, October 23rd beginning at 11 a.m. in the Cooper Memorial Library. Fashionista diva and teenage vampire, Gina Covello, star of the Vamped novels will emcee the show with her author Lucienne Diver. Lucienne is both a literary agent with over sixteen years experience and an author. She started writing in her teens because talking back to the voices in her head wasn't socially acceptable - and she already had enough to deal with being a drama and AP English geek. Her credits include short stories and a romantic comedy written under the pseudonym Kit Daniels. With her latest young adult novel Re-Vamped, she's taking off the mask and stepping into the full glare of ... indirect sunlight. Because as her heroine would tell you, anything else is hazardous to your health, especially once you've been Vamped.
The program will include live music by recording artist Derek Martin, a singer-songwriter raised in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. Derek's music sounds anywhere from a stroll in the park under the night sky, to a folk-rock ruckus that belongs somewhere where moonshine and rustic barns meet. Trying to reconcile things of God, spirituality, relationships and life, Derek crafts melodies and chords along with musings of questions, comments, and reflections on life itself.
