Mark your calendar for September 25, 2010 if you want to become a volunteer adult literacy tutor!
Becoming an adult literacy tutor is a wonderful experience. Many times a tutor will tell me that they feel guilty as they feel they are getting more than they are giving in the tutor/learner relationship!
But taking the first steps can be challenging. There is so much to do before you greet your first adult learner. The new tutor training will prepare you for jumping right into this amazing volunteer opportunity. The training has been revised and now requires a 1-day face-to-face training and an online training component that must be completed prior to the face-to-face meeting.
