The City of Tavares Public Library will be hosting the final program in the Caribbean Cultures Series on Sunday, April 18 at 3:00 pm in the Tavares Civic Center, 100 W. Caroline St. The Caribbean Food Festival will feature a sampling of the cuisines of Cuba, Haiti and Peru. Dr. Harry Coverston will speak about the cuisines and cultures of our featured countries prior to the dish tasting. Samples from the various countries will be provided by Alberto Paneca of Copacabana Cuban Café, Cleliante Presy from Haiti and Gladys Orihuela from Peru. This free program will be good fun for the entire family and is made possible through a grant from the Florida Humanities Council, The State Program for the National Endowment for the Humanities. Join us for fun, food, music, culture, and comraderie.
