Solutions for your Home and Garden @ the Library

A Program with the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences

The Lake County Library System will continue to provide programs with The University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. Make plans to Plant your Spring Garden with University of Florida, Lake County Residential Horticulture Agent, Charles Fedunak. Explore Florida-Friendly Landscaping ™, plan your garden and get tips on planting for the spring. Charles will appear at the City of Tavares Public Library on Wednesday, January 6th at 3 p.m.; at the Astor County Library on Thursday, the 7th at 5 p.m.; and at the W.T. Bland Public Library in Wednesday the 13th at 2 p.m.

The popular program Closing your Florida Home will be presented by Extension Agent Julie England. You will receive tips on how to prepare your home when leaving for an extended periods; how to prepare your home inside and out; tips on storm preparation; and how to prevent mold & mildew. Julie will be at the Fruitland Park Library on Monday, February 8th at 2 p.m.; at the Leesburg Public Library on Wednesday, February 17th at 2 p.m.; the Lady Lake Public Library on Tuesday the 23th at 2 p. m.; and at the Minneola Schoolhouse Library on Friday the 26th at 10 a.m.

In March we will again offer workshops on how to plant your spring garden with Charles Fedunak.
Charles will be at the Umatilla Public Library on Thursday the 4th at 10 a.m.; and at the Paisley County Library on Tuesday the 16th at 11 a.m. The Master Gardener Mobile Plant Clinic van will be at the East Lake Library Bluegrass Festival on Saturday, March 13th from 10 a.m. —3 p.m.

Charles Fedunak is also Lake County’s Master Gardener Coordinator as well as the county’s Residential Horticulture Agent specializing in educational programs on lawns, gardens and Florida-Friendly Landscaping™. Julie England is an Extension Agent specializing in educational programming in health, nutrition and financial management. The public is invited to attend. All programs are free.
