The city of Minneola will celebrate the grand opening of the Minneola Schoolhouse Library on 4/18 at 10:00 a.m. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony with entertainment and refreshments to follow. All are invited to attend.
The library is located in the first schoolhouse in Minneola and was built in 1885. The city purchased the building in 2006 and completed the renovation in fall, 2008. It successfully combines the eras of old and new with restored hardwood floors, antique photos and flat screen computers.
The library welcomes adults to attend: workshops on How to Get That Job! (4/3), How to Manage Money in these Uncertain Times (5/15) and How to Start Your Own Business (5/29). Due to space limitations, registration is necessary for these events.
The Minneola Front Porch Book Club will have its first meeting on 4/22 at 10:00 a.m. Adults are encouraged to bring a book that they have enjoyed reading, and a list of books for the group to consider reading.
Weekly family storytimes begin on 4/27 at 10:30 a.m.
The library is avidly seeking literacy tutors and adult learners.
