East Lake County Library's 8th Annual Poetry Contest

New Category!!

In Honor of National Poetry Month in April the Friends of East Lake County Library is sponsoring the 8th Annual Poetry Contest.  Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each category.  Honorable Mentions will receive a certificate and every entry will receive a ribbon of participation.  The age groups are as followed:

  • Children's Age Group: up to 12 years old.
  • Teen Age Group:        13 to 18 years old.
  • Adult Age Group:        19 and up.

Poems in these categories can be on any topic, only one page in length, and typed or written legibly.

NEW CATEGORY

This year's contest features a new category of poems written about the East Lake County area (Sorrento/Mt. Plymouth).  This category is open to all ages.  Poems submitted in this category cannot be judged in the other categories as well.

This new category is privately sponsored by Steve & Pam Jennelle and the winning poems will be presented to the East Lake Chamber of Commerce.

You can submit online by going to our website www.mylakelibrary.org, or print out your form from our website and submit it with your entry at any Lake County Library location or mail your entry to:
