Navigators from the Affordable Care Act (ACA) will be available to assist people at the Cagan Crossings Community Library on June 18 and June 25 from 4 -6 p.m. Navigators Nancy Bennett and Natalie Wilson will be on hand to provide information and give out literature to the Spanish and English speaking residents of the Four Corners Community.
Open enrollment for health insurance in the Federal Marketplace ended on March 31, 2014. Florida was extremely successful – nearly 1 million Floridians were enrolled in a health insurance plan. However, Navigators will continue to provide education to individuals, organizations, and community leaders on the value of health insurance and how to access the Marketplace.
In addition, they are available to assist consumers in a variety of situations. For example, they can help consumers who:
• Qualify for a special enrollment period, either through a “complex case” special enrollment period or because of a life event (birth of a child, marriage, divorce, loss of employer provided coverage, etc.).
• Are newly enrolled in insurance but are having trouble using it.
• Remain uninsured. It is important for consumers who have not enrolled in health insurance to know how the requirement to have insurance will affect them when they file federal income taxes next year.
The Cagan Crossings Community Library is proud to partner with the ACA Navigators to provide accurate and timely information regarding rights and responsibilities concerning health insurance coverage and the marketplace.
The program is free. For information call (352) 243-1840.
