The Ninth Annual Bluegrass Festival

East Lake County Library hosts its Ninth Annual Bluegrass Festival on March 15, 2014 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. with free admission. Featured performers this year will be the Blackwater Creek Bluegrass Band. Blackwater Creek Bluegrass was started by Pat McLaughlin, a master banjo picker and luthier from the Eustis area. The band performs in the area about twice a month and has been booked at local street festivals and art festivals for years.The performance will be on site at East Lake County Library, 31340 County Road 437 South in Sorrento.

Happy Faces face painters will be available free for children of all ages from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. The East Lake Friends of the Library will have their Spring Fling which includes their book sale, bake sale, chance drawing and flea market on the library site. Food Concessions will be on sale by the East Lake Historical Society.

Also on hand will be the County Agricultural Center’s Mobile Plant Clinic. This Lake County Master Gardener volunteer program provides assistance to area residents in identifying plants and solving landscape issues. They provide free soil tests and publications from the University of Florida, IFAS.

Bring lawn chairs for outside seating. No alcohol. Tables are still available for $5 for arts and crafts sales, community yard sales and business expos. Call Bev Holcomb at 352-589-9324.
