Cooper Library to Reduce Hours for Spring Break

Due to Spring Break at Lake-Sumter State College, the Cooper Memorial Library is on reduced hours this week. The Library will be open Monday-Thursday, March 3-6 from 10 am – 7 pm. The Library will be closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 7-9. The Library will resume normal operating hours the following Monday, March 10.

Please join the staff for special BookFest events.  Thursday, March 13  at 2 p.m. Florida Writers: Moon Rockets and Tropical Rain.  Dr. James C. Clark will introduce his latest book, the Pineapple Anthology of Florida Writers. This is the first in a series of writings about Florida, fiction and nonfiction, by legendary writers who have come to Florida. From Audubon in 1834 to Dave Barry in 1990, these writers reveal Florida’s natural beauty and her residents’ human foibles.

On Saturday, March 15 at 10 a.m. Creating Memorable Characters. Delicious Reads, welcomes best-selling authors Vicki Delany, CB Forrest and RJ Harlick from the Capital Crime Writers, Ottawa, Canada! Over the past decade, Canadian mystery writers have made a splash on bestseller and award lists around the globe. These authors will conduct a  writing workshop with a unique perspective.  From your hero to your villain to your comedic relief, characters are what every story is all about.
