Each year Lake County librarians organize a bookmark design contest for students and adults inviting them to use their creativity to symbolize the wonderful world of reading and libraries. Last year, a photography contest was added to increase the possibilities for expression. The Lake County Library System is proud to announce the annual Bookmark Design and Photography Contests for K-12 students and adults. This year’s theme will be Delicious Reads to support the 11th annual Lake County BookFest. Bookmarks and photographs should capture the experience of reading, sharing or remembering good books. Complete contest rules & guidelines are available on the website: www.mylakelibrary.org/bookmark_design_contest/default.aspx
Awards will be announced during the BookFest Authors' Reception on Friday, March 14th in the Leesburg Public Library. The winning photographs will be available for viewing on the Lake County Library System website and will be displayed in the beautiful Lady Lake Public Library.
Deliver completed entry form with your original bookmark design or photograph to any LCLS library. Entries may also be mailed to: Thom Mazak, Lady Lake Library, 225 W. Guava St., Lady Lake, FL 32159 or electronic files (300 dpi or greater) may be submitted via e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org
The winning bookmark designs will then be available at all 15 libraries in the Lake County Library System, and will be printable from the library system’s web site. The winning photographs will be available for viewing on the Lake County Library System website and will be displayed in the beautiful Lady Lake Public Library. Prizes for both contests will include gift cards for 1st - 3rd prize winners.
Deadline for submission is February 14, 2014. All students and adults in Central Florida are encouraged to enter as many times as they wish. For additional information on this contest call Thom Mazak, Program Coordinator for the Lady Lake Public Library at 352-753-2957.
