Mystery Writers of America ~ Florida Chapter @ BookFest

The Lake County Library System’s 11th annual Lake BookFest, is honored to welcome the Florida Chapter of the Mystery Writers of America as a Premiere Sponsor! Save the dates, events will take place from March 10th through the 15th, 2014. In response to requests from our many readers, this year’s theme Delicious Reads will include the best of mystery, suspense and crime fiction! There is nothing more exciting than a good mystery, which is why 118,446 mystery books circulated in Lake County libraries last year, topping the list of popular titles.

The Florida Chapter of the Mystery Writers of America is an organization of published and aspiring authors, editors, agents, screenwriters, readers and other professionals in the crime genre field. They sponsor one of the best mystery writers’ conferences in the country, SleuthFest. The 2014 event will be held February 27-March 2 at the Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort, Bonnet Creek. “We're a killer group with over 250 members from Pensacola to Key West. Murdering by the book can be a lonely life. Our chapter can connect you with other authors who earn a living writing about death.”

The BookFest has become one of Florida's premier literary events and this year, thanks to the Florida Chapter of the Mystery Writers of America, we are offering Lake County a unique opportunity to preview new mystery/thriller novels, to meet aspiring writers and best-selling authors. Attending a BookFest event with a book signing provides a great opportunity for authors to connect with their fans.

The mission of the BookFest is to encourage the love of reading and to offer the highest quality literary and cultural events and activities. The event is primarily supported by grants, donations and the Friends of the Library.
