The summer fun starts with the W. T. Bland Public Library’s Summer Reading Program “Dig into Reading”. The fun starts on Tuesday, June 18 and runs through Friday, July 26. The Summer Reading Program at the W. T. Bland Public Library is free and open to all. There will be stories, crafts, books and door prizes. Remember it is free thanks to the generosity of our Friends of the Library. Each week of the Summer Reading Program will bring new stories, crafts, entertainment and films. Plan to attend them all.
For six weeks, Tuesdays will be Family Movie Tuesdays at 2 p.m., starting Tuesday, June 18. All movies are G or PG rated. FREE and that includes popcorn. Children ages 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult. A full listing of movie titles, ratings and running rimes is available at the Library.
Thursdays will be Special Thursday Performances at the Mount Dora Community Building (520 N. Baker) all programs start at 2 p.m. Remember there is no registration and all ages are welcome and all the show are FREE. The first show will be June 20 at 2 p.m. will be John Storms and His World of Reptiles.
Fridays will be “Dig Into Reading” Fridays Activity Hour starting at 10:30a.m. for grades K through 5 only. Register at the door and it is open to the first 50 children in grades K – 5 only. Activities include Orlando, Youth Circus, Earth Worm Farms, Stepping Stones, Butterflies 101, Creepy Crawlies and more.
Don’t forget to sign up for the Read to Win prize-filled Book Bag giveaways. The book bag is filled with books and lots of cool things. There will be a drawing every Friday for the winner. All you have to do is to read books (that includes audio books) and you can put your name in for the drawing. Be sure to ask for a contest entry form at the Circulation Desk. Contest begins
