eBook Collection Includes Audiobooks

Did you know that you can borrow eBooks and audiobooks from your local library? Lake County Library System rolled out the eBook collection through OverDrive, the global leader in digital distribution, in August 2011. Over the past year the circulation of these eBooks has exceeded 72,500. Lending e-books and audiobooks allows libraries to potentially serve more patrons beyond the hours and walls of their branches. There are never any late fees! No trips to return books! Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period. This service is free for patrons with a Lake County Library System library card.

Ebooks and audiobooks are downloaded almost instantaneously and take up less space. They are portable, you can carry multiple copies of books with you, and with today's technology you can read or listen to them everywhere, travelling, waiting or standing in line. Discover how our digital collection can serve you with eBooks, audiobooks, and more. Fonts in eBooks can be resized, making it easier to read for people with disabilities. Audiobooks are a great option for people who prefer to listen while driving or simply relaxing. Library card holders can check out and download digital media from the website 24/7 mylakelibrary.lib.overdrive.com

In this digital age, it is easier than ever to pro-vide the most popular and classic materials to patrons online. Patrons may browse the website, check out with a valid library card, and download to their PC or Mac®, and many mobile devices with the required free software provided.  Library cards are always free for residents of Lake County and reciprocal borrowers. Call your local library for details or apply online. Start your adventure today!
