Lake County Library System Gives Patrons Access to over 680,000 Items

Intra Library Loan is the procedure used by Lake County Library System libraries to move over 680,000 items between the 15 libraries. The purpose of Intra Library Loan is to offer an alternative approach to meet the information needs of library patrons by providing access to the library resources of other libraries that are not available at the patron’s home library.

All items may be requested at any library location or on our website www.mylakelibrary.org. A courier goes between the libraries once a day, Monday through Friday, and will bring books, videos, CDs, and DVD items back and forth. Patrons of the Lake County Library system can place holds on an item belonging to any of the libraries and have it delivered to their selected pickup location.

Library cards for Lake County residents are always free. You can check out books, movies and other great materials, search and reserve materials from any of the Lake County Library System libraries via our online Library Catalog and access premium online databases.

You can apply for a Lake County Library System library card at any library or online! All you will need is proof of residency. You can also renew your library card online or by telephoning your library directly or by stopping by your library.
