The Florida Literacy Coalition is facilitating an online tutor training course February 6-24. Users can go through the course at their own leisure during these THREE weeks and get familiarized with adult basic education and ESL techniques. This is a great opportunity if you have volunteers who are waiting to be trained, or just need a refresher course. Topics include characteristics of adult learners, second language acquisition, phonemes and much more. For a demo of the course, go to www.floridaliteracy.org/training, select “Login” to create an account, and open “Demo Directions.”
If you are interested in participating in this course, you can register here or contact Annie Schmidt (email@example.com). Please visit www.floridaliteracy.org/facilitatedcourseflier.pdf to access a flyer with all the workshop details.
If you would like to learn more about the Lake County Library System Adult Literacy Program and how you can get involved, contact Erika L. Greene, Literacy Coordinator, at 352-253-61873 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
