  • African Storytelling
    Sunday, February 15 at 3:00 pm at the Civic Center
    Tavares Public Library presents Dr. Harriet Masembe, an American citizen African storyteller and English Professor at Lake Sumter State College, Leesburg Florida. Her African storytelling program introduces through stories, songs and slides of African cities. The audience participates in singing, drumming and Q & A.

  • Lego Club for elementary age school children and their siblings is held at 2:30 p.m. every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month in the library Youth Room. Come build something!

  • Wii games are available for play on the library gaming system in the Youth Room each Wednesday from 2:30-5:00 p.m. There are also board, table, and card games like Uno, Scrabble, chess, checkers, and many more.

Toddler Story Time and Crafts
Enjoy music, interactive finger plays, songs and stories in the library Youth Room. A different themed craft accompanies the story time each week. Designed for kids ages birth - 5 and their guardians.

Wii Wednesdays
Lots of Wii games available for play on the library gaming system in the Youth Room. There are also board and table games like Boggle, Uno, Scrabble, chess, checkers and many more.

Youth Story Time
Kids, bring mom and dad and enjoy lots of fun songs and stories in the Youth Room. A different themed-craft accompanies the story time each week.

Lego Club
Let your child's imagination take flight while and showing off their Lego building skills in the library Youth Room. Blocks will be provided by the library and registration is not necessary. Parents are encouraged to participate with their children.

Whether you are just learning chess or you've been playing for years, come and enjoy some competition and strategy time at the library. All ages are welcome. Second Saturday of each month.
